A Must Have Widget

Well, if you watch the news, or even surf the internet you have probably heard of NASA’s latest creation to land

on Mars. It is the Phoenix Lander and it is suppose to relay massive amounts of information on the polar caps of Mars. That being said, it will only being doing so for a couple of months before becoming encased in ice during the Martian winter.

The piece that is very interesting about this lander in particular is that it features an on-board “weather center” of sorts, which is thanks to the Canadian Space Agency. With this they are trying to gain some information about Martian weather patterns and even post their findings online and to a spiffy Dashboard Widget (or for you less fortunate, they also have a Windows Vista widget).

The Widget is available here (Arizona University). It shows you the min and max temperatures of the day and even the weather conditions.

The only setback is that it seems to update only once a day but since it is the “Mars Weather Report”, I guess I can let that slide.
